Now, we are talking about one of those black anime characters more notable than its original series. Michiko comes off as a loud and arrogant girl, she is no less than a character to root for. Why? Her daring personality as she handles challenges and potential threats like a champ are showstopping. With his daughter hatchin, she’s endlessly searching to find her ex-lover and willingly reunite the father and daughter duo.
8. Canary (Hunter X Hunter)
Killua Zoldyck had no one by side to call a friend except for Canary. Before meeting Gon, Canary supported Killua as much as he did. Canary is commissioned to protect the Zoldyck household from outsiders, she had been entrusted with such an important job by the Zoldyck due to her great abilities. She is kind to everyone as she is to her dear friend. Her kind demeanor shined very few times in order to seem focused during work.
7. Miguel Oduol (Jujutsu Kaisen)
When first arrived in a minor role, Miguel Oduol left a memorable impression for fans. He was a valuable character who was also present during the Shibuya Arc when his fellow jujutsu sorcerer’s needed inforcements. He put up a fight with Sukuna despite the monstrous difference in the power level of the two due to the absence of Gojo. Once a stranger, now a likable teacher of Okkotsu Yuta.

6. Casca (Berserk)
Casca was the loyal sword of Griffith whom she admired for his leadership. When she saw his impure ways, she immediately gathered herself and opposed him. Casca was a brave warrior and capable of mighty leadership to fight monstrous demons and false characters. Her presence was a moment of inspiring bravery for Guts often in the series. Leading her to be the most iconic female anime black character known.
5. Killer Bee (Naruto Shippuden)
Naruto Shippuden has loads of characters to look forward to, Killer Bee is the only one who is loved for his charismatic aura. Don’t lie, we all were moving our heads when Killer Bee started street rapping in the middle of the episode. Killer Bee was the one who taught Naruto how to control his nine tails, which proved to be helpful in the future. He wasn’t just comic relief, he was quick to fight and achieved accomplishment by the end.
4. Usopp (One Piece)
If we wrote iconic characters of color in One piece, it would indeed require a different list list for us to complete. One piece didn’t step back for sure, we got the chance to see some iconic black characters from the series alone. Usopp is a master marksman and a bearer of great kindness towards his fellow pirates. He may not be as strong as the others, he can also be afraid at times, he is ready to fight for his friends when needed to do so.
3. Brock (Pokemon)
Who would’ve thought Brock would be in this list of black anime characters… Well, for one thing, Brock is a coward and swoons over the mild sight of a girl. Another thing is, he’s a loyal friend available for advice and a supporter of Ash’s dream of becoming the best pokémon trainer. Throughout the series he stayed in a comedic side role which we all loved. He was also Ash Ketchum’s best friend when he first started his travels. Brock might be a little crazy, but that’s why we love him, don’t we?
2. Mohammed Avdol (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Avdol was the one who led the Joestar family to be able to reach the infamous final villain of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. Without his help in the desserts, or the battles they had to face, became short-lived thanks to his strategic mind. Avdol meant to help the joestar’s for solely one reason, to get rid of the demonic beast, Dio brando. Avdol is of Egyptian descent yet he’s one of the most known black anime characters.
1. Yoruichi Shihouin (Bleach)
Yoruichi is signified by her relaxed and laid back manner, a manner you never know can turn serious. Previously the Squad 2 captain and once commander of the Stealth Unit, she is now living her life in retirement as she had decided. Yoruichi is determined nevertheless when her help is required, thus she played key roles in important Bleach Arcs.
