PS5 Pro Specs, Latest Games And Price—- PS6 Rumored Leaks

PS5 Pro’s Previous Counterpart (PS5) was met with worldwide success. So it should be more interesting to hear the market reactions of the latest, PS5 Pro. The PS5 Pro was officially ou on November 7, 2024 and is thought to be a significant upgrade over the standard PS5 with well-appeasing reviews by critics and gamers.

The market reaction to the PS5 Pro has been overwhelmingly positive so far. It has been praised for its significant performance improvements. Including a Sony specific Feature for the new console; PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution.

It’s an AI-driven upscaling technology that improves image quality of all games of both previous and new releases. Many games are upscaling to take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s capabilities, offering enhanced visuals and performance.

PS5 Pro’s Overall Specifications

But, has Sony this year as well appeased prospective customers? Compared to the PS5 the new PS5 Pro is clearly more improved, mainly centralised on bettering old games from the non-pro PS5. The newer dynamics specialize the graphics and functions of older and latest games alike.

Faster GPU assists in higher frame rates, better resolution, and more realistic graphics. This game-changer looks slightly different, in a better sense, of course. The PS5 Pro’s faster SSD means quicker loading times for games and apps paired with a greater GPU.

In newer Gaming engines, Ray tracing is a technique that simulates realistic lighting and reflections, and is significantly better on the PS5 Pro. Latest gaming engines use Ray tracing to create more realistic lightning effects, and the PS5 Pro has mildly improved this component. It is also inheriting finer lighting from new games into older ones.

The latest PS5 Pro is compact with a Larger SSD and now comes with a 2TB SSD. This is double the storage capacity of the standard PS5 and can handle many heavy games easily.  In order to run those games smoothly, PS5 Pro now supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard. Offering players faster and more stable wireless connections.

PS5 Pro Price Comparison To Non-Pro PS5

Sony has a running tradition to launch consoles just a month or two before christmas. Don’t get your hopes up, this doesn’t necessarily mean a sale for the newly launched PS5 Pro. For example, the PS5 was came out on November 12, 2020. Only three years after we saw a sale for the console by Sony. Yup, the price will sadly remain fixed, for now. The current price of PS5 Pro is $699.99 USD. Worldwide, the price is different but varies by only a small margin.

In comparison, the Non-Pro PS5 was originally $399 USD after release and the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive was $499 USD. After the Pro version’s release, we likely won’t see a drop in price now or any later.

With such a major difference in terms of price, is the pro version even worth buying? Considering the latest comments conspiring mostly bad reviews, there might be thinner chances of the pro being a bigger success than the standard PS5. Currently there are many issues associated, from choppy graphics to bad lighting scenarios.

Unless Sony does something about these issues, there is no chance for another Pro version console. For now, we can happily sit at home with our standard PS5 which currently hosts zero issues, thanks to modern technology and carefully considered critiques.

PS6 Rumors And Potential Leaks

As of now, there are no official announcements from Sony about the PS6. However, there are some persistent rumors circulating. Many speculate that the PS6 could be a release around 2026 or 2027, or some even say around 2028. After the PS5 Pro, the PS6 will pave the way for upcoming technology of the next decade. It’s likely that the PS6 will use AMD’s latest hardware, offering significant performance improvements over the PS5.

Sony has a strong track record of backward compatibility, so many believe that the PS6 will be able to play PS5 and potentially even PS4 games. Have I mentioned rumors of a new PlayStation handheld console? It’s not a leak, there is a high possibility of it launching alongside the PS6. Remember, these are just rumors, and nothing is official yet. All of us can only pray and wait for any good news from Sony with future announcements.
