New And Old ‘Squid Games’ in the 2nd Season
These are games from traditional Korean childhood pastimes with deadly stakes, it’s basically living your childhood again but this time, in your adulthood. The classic games are given new twists but remain inhumane as ever.
1. Bread and Lottery: Before the main games commence, participants encounter a choice between a roll of bread and a lottery ticket. Opting for the lottery ticket often leads to loss and in return you get a slap from the salesman himself. Definitely a classic saved for the next season.
2. Six-Legged Pentathlon: Teams of five players, with their inner legs bound together, navigate a relay-style course featuring five distinct mini-games.
3. Ddakji: Players attempt to flip a folded paper card by striking it with another card.
4. Gong-gi: Similar to the Western game of Jacks, players toss and catch small pieces in increasing sequences.
5. Spinning Top: Players wind a string around a top and release it to spin on the ground, aiming for stability and speed.
6. Jegi: Comparable to hacky sack, players keep a small paper toy airborne using their feet.
7. Mingle: Resembling musical chairs, players move around a space until a number is called, prompting them to form groups of that size. Failure to do so results in elimination.
8. Flying Stone: Participants throw a stone to knock down another stone set at a distance, requiring precision and force.
The games that were present in season 1 are also in squid game season 2. These games include: Red Light, Green Light, Tug of War, Marbles, The Glass Bridge and the grand finale for the participants, Squid game.
Squid Game 2 In Comparison To Squid Game Season 1
Just like the first season, Squid Game Season: Unleash doesn’t shy away from tackling societal issues. From class disparity to the moral dilemmas of survival, the show holds a mirror to our own world, making its commentary even more chilling.
This season also explores the psychological toll of power and control, particularly through the lens of the mysterious VIPs and the organization behind the games.
The enigmatic Front Man also takes a more prominent role this season, offering insights into his backstory and his motivations behind running the deadly games.
It’s safe to say the emotional themes of this series are still intact. While the squid game ending being labeled as terrifying and demonic is only fueling excitement till Squid game season 3 airs soon.

Squid Game 3 Will Be Out Sooner Than We Thought?!
Yup, Squid game 3 is closer than you think. Everyone was stunned to see that Netflix leaked squid game season 3 release date in such a short notice. The said date is June 27, 2025. With speculations and trusted sources hinting new and expected arrivals in the 3rd setting of the show. Some fans even theorise that Netflix is hiring BTS V for a new role. Or, maybe Jung Hoyoen is coming back once again to appear as Kang Sae Byeok.
I, personally, would love to see Thanos appear and wreak havoc once again. His energy, humour and enigmatic personality was seriously the cake itself, and the cherry on top. Though it’s crystal clear that Thanos is forever gone from the world of squid game (All because of a damn fork).
