These Toxic Anime love triangles led to many fans thinking the characters present in them deserved a love interest or at least some romance for their sake. Some are left as a second choice in Anime love triangles, while others are stuck in their past love, unable to move on. Anime love triangles are often common in slice of life type Anime usually reaching to a well planned conclusion. So it’s safe to say that it has taken a positive turn for certain characters.Â
But it’s tricky, no one wants their favorite character to be left out of that “triangle”. And so, this very romance leads to the dissatisfaction of many communities which drives them insane.
Writers are unsatisfied unless there is some room for drama which possibly gives us unasked Anime love triangles. Leading fans to take sides for their favorites and that’s where it all takes place.
7. Nightfall, Yor and Twilight Has Our Hopes High (Spy x Family)
Spy x Family is another member of the action-romance Anime series’ which showcases the relationship between the soft yet murderous assassin, Yor briar and Westalis’ top-notch spy, Twilight. With love, comes a love triangle! In this case, the two have many heartfelt moments but the show is yet to introduce any real love for both. On the other hand, another spy from Westalis, Nightfall, is clearly head over heels for Loid.
She has her hesitations to prevent her from confessing but is ready to back him up whenever needed. However, it is obvious that Yor is destined for Loid both in the manga and Anime. Meaning unfortunately, Nightfall is only there to play the unintentional matchmaker for the both.
6. Kaname, Yuki and Zero Is The Hottest Trio, Actually (Vampire Knight)
Yuki and Zero had chemistry from the start, Meaning Kaname was already out of the Anime love triangles. The obvious outcome is more painful than subtle hints of the relationship. Yuki was more interested in Zero and always ensured her support while Kaname was not given the same treatment. Kanama had probably noticed her behavioral difference between them both and had an idea himself.
This toxic triangle triggered the hearts of many Kaname fans. It is true that Kaname did deserve better than to be second choice.
5. Demande, Mamoru and Usagi Is One Of The Love Triangles (Sailor Moon)
What’s worse than playing the unintentional matchmaker? The reason for Demande’s presence was solely to make the Tuxedo Mask (Mamoru) be the hero in sailor moon‘s eyes. Demande’s behavior was rather ill and unkind towards Usagi but that is unjust to say since he was controlled by Wiseman, another villain from the series. Demande loved Usagi undeniably. However, his struggles went in vain, they were never meant to be together from the start.
Besides, Demande was nothing more than a villain in Usagi’s eyes so this triangle was very obviously doomed the moment it began.

4. Tsubaki, Kaori and Kousei Has The Most Confusing Conclusion (Your Lie In April)
Tsubaki loved Kousei since childhood. As expected, her feelings were not returned and led her to a heartbreak. When Kaori helped a fallen pianist, Kousei, he immediately developed feelings for her leading the once rejected Tsubaki in envy. Tsubaki could hardly be considered to be part of the Anime love triangle since Kousei and Kaori had many moments while she did not share even one. Kaori had an instant effect on Kousei while Tsubaki, who knew him for a long time, was neglected. Leading her to be frustrated and confronted with a toxic relationship.
After Kaori’s passing, Tsubaki’s treatment as a first choice came into action when Suddenly Kousei put all his attention towards her. They did end up together but not how Tsubaki or anyone wanted.
3. Ichigo, Zero two and Hiro Were Destined (Darling in the Franxx)
This Anime love triangle was full of jealousy, at least from Ichigo’s side. Hiro paid no attention to Ichigo and this led to jealousy flooding from inside Ichigo. Even in another world, As humans, Zero Two and Hiro got reincarnated and started their love story all over again. While Ichigo barely had any moments with Hiro and she was basically his . Ichigo managed to share a few heartfelt moments but their feelings did not. Hiro loved Zero two and she did as well. This love triangle was danmed from the start.
Ichigo found her true beloved at the end of the series, but now she has to try again with fear of her dearest falling in love with someone else. That is not permissible in any way!

2. Rem, Emilia and Subaru Had an Upsetting Love Triangle (Re:Zero)
Subaru’s confession for Emilia in front of Rem during her own confession caused the death of this entire love triangle. Emilia showed little interest in Subaru’s first meeting but that didn’t overshadow the fact that Subaru fell in love with her. In fact, they did share a kiss but there wasn’t further progress. Rem knew he loved Emilia and accepted it but she knew it was eating her from the inside.
In the end, the manga made it crystal clear that Rem won’t have her happy ending with Subaru as she intended to and only spinoffs can make this fairytale come true.
1. Kikyo, Kagome and Inuyasha Is The Most Infamous Love Triangle(Inuyasha)
Both Kikyo and Inuyasha were stuck in the past and on top of that, Kikyo ended up dying in the series. Kagome and Inuyasha were meant to be together as the series showed their relationship. Kikyo was his first love but with interference from other people it eventually came to an end. Kagome felt jealousy over their relationship but who knew he would end up choosing her. The toxic Anime love triangles have jealousy, anger and betrayal all together in one place.
A love triangle full of holes and probably one of the most frustrating over the course of the series. There is no denying that Inuyasha was the main problem here compared to the other two.
